I ordered this fireplace on Nov 30th, it arrived today, Dec 9th. Shipping was free, and it is the busy Holiday Season, so it wasn't fast, but arrived within the window of time that was promised. I did a lot of research before buying, and I would truly have to say that with all the features of this unit, you get the most "bang for your buck" in this price range then I've seen anywhere. Unless of course you do want to spend 500.00 and I believe this unit started out in that price range. I picked it up on a Cyber Monday special which brought the price down to about 275.00. YaY!
I am going to try to answer some questions I had about the unit that weren't answered until I received it. Is it heavy? The heaviest part is the glass that fits on the front if the unit. However, when you mount it, you install the bracket to the wall first, then the firebox hooks onto the bracket, then the glass kind of snaps on, so you aren't dealing with a whole lot of weight all at one time. I was a bit disappointed with the brackets pre-drilled holes. There is no wiggle room for the screws, so if you don't have a stud centered right in the middle of the wall, you get no help with a half inch leeway or so from the bracket. As a result, my fireplace is slightly off center on the wall, but I will probably notice it more than anyone else.
Next question, are those rocks or crystals on the bottom of the presentation window? They are crystal rocks ( happy) that's what I wanted.
Can you change the color of the flame? No....but the color varies from amber to yellow and is transparent looking like real fire. There is NO blue color in the flame, but trust me, that's ok, some of the fireplaces have too much blue and the flame looks artificial. This flame is very believable and you can adjust the intensity.
Is there a red light that goes on in the upper right corner of the presentation window when the heat is on? Yes, But the red light does not stay on, it only stays on until you program in the temperature, then it goes away on it's own.
Now let's talk about the color changing feature. It's subtle and "morphs" from one color to the next. I think it's one of the "coolest" features of the unit. Oh, did I mention the temperature control and timer feature, both are also features of the more expensive models.
One last thing. I installed the fireplace myself and I am a female, it is not hard to do and you can do it yourself, just have the right tools on hand, if you have any doubts watch a YouTube video on how to install one of these, it's really not rocket science, and you really don't have to hire someone to do it if you are the least bit handy, just read the directions. Another thing not discussed was can you install a Power Bridge ( also shown on YouTube and can be purchased on Amazon) so you have no power wire hanging down from the fireplace. I asked an electrician friend and he says as long as the kit you buy is up to code and with the wattage of this unit, you should be ok. I haven't done that yet, but if I do, I will update. The manufacturer at least had the good sense to use a white power cable, so it doesn't look that bad hanging down.
Overall, very happy with the purchase, it's a keeper and I can't wait to show it off to my friends!

Update: After getting more acquainted with this fireplace, I have found that once you set the heat temperature, the unit will cycle heat on and off as needed, just like your furnace. On the remote the temperature goes up to 28c, I'm guessing that's 82 degrees.

One other thing I forgot to address; how high on the wall do you mount this? I have a friend who mounted hers low on the wall with the reasoning that a real fireplace is close to the floor. I, on the other hand notice that most pictures shown by manufactures have the units higher up. I mounted mine so the bottom is about 34 inches from the floor, this way I can see if from many angles, I feel it looks great....I LOVE IT! Now I will go get a life.....

UPDATE#2: Installed the Power Bridge today. It went in without a hitch. Again, I am a female and did all this myself, it was easy when you follow directions and watch YouTube videos. This was the finishing touch, the fireplace looks professionally installed and like it's magically floating on the wall....AMAZING! I got my Power Bridge on EBay for about 30.00 less then it is sold for anywhere else. Get one if you want to make this look right.

I ordered this fireplace for my living room. It works really well under my tv. Very happy with the product!

This fireplace is outstanding! It was easy to hang as long as you have two solid studs to place the screws- so it is guaranteed to not risk the chance of falling off your wall by any means. I live in a large double wide trailer that sits on a foundation, so I have a full basement underneath my house. The basement is unfinished, but there is plenty of heat even down there as well as upstairs, but for whatever reason, my master bedroom, simply, is the coldest room at the end of the house. I don't know if it is inadequate insulation when it was slapped together, or what, but it felt like an icebox, and nights during the winter, when the temperature gets really low, I find myself spending the night on the couch because its just too cold to sleep in there. Well, I purchased this fireplace, crank the heat on for fifteen minutes at night before I go to bed, and when I enter my room, its already warm and I sleep throughout the night. It's awesome to sleep in my room again! It comes with a remote, and I am a night person, so I usually stay up until 3 or 4 in the morning. There is a timer through the remote only, so I usually set it for 4 or 5 hours to shut off, and by that time, it's already off and the room is cooling down by the time I roll out of bed. The timer goes up to 8 hrs and when it hits the temperature that you set (which I believe goes up to about 80), the blower comes on until the heat has to kick on again. My bedroom is about 1600 square feet, so it heats very adequately for a nice sized area. I would recommend this fireplace to anyone.

Easy to install and it looks great! The box that it was in was pretty beat up and we thought for sure that the fireplace was damaged but it was not. Packing should be a bit stronger, the entire corner was ripped open.

FAQ-Frequently asked questions

l Why does the fan blow before the heat comes on, and after the heater is turned off?

Heat and cool gradually. The fan blows when the heater is first turned on, and the heat is still heating up. After the heater turns off, the fan will continue to blow air for 10 seconds. This allows the fireplace to cool slowly, and helps prevent overheating.

l What does the fireplace beep? Can I turn the beeping off?

The beeps indicate that the signal from the control panel, or remote control, has been received by the fireplace. The beeping cannot be turned off.

l Why doesn¡¯t the fireplace function change when remote control setting changes?

The fireplace function will only change if there is a beep after pressing the button. If you do not hear a beep, try again. If you hear a beep, the fireplace function will change to match the remote control setting. For example, if the heat is on, but the remote control screen reads off, press the heater button again. The heat symbol will display. Both are now ¡°on¡±. Press the button again, and wait for the beep. The heater and the heat symbol will both turn off.

l Why does the remote control not work, or only work sometimes?

Check to make sure the batteries are good. If necessary, change to new batteries. If the remote control is not aimed properly, if you are too far away, or if you are too far off to the side, the signal may not reach the fireplace. Get closer, aim at the upper right corner of the screen (where the red heat indicator light is located), and try again.

l How do I change from high heat to low heater?

The heater is controlled by the heater button on the control panel, or the heater and temp buttons on the remote control.

l Is the thermostat setting accurate?

The temperature within a room can vary. Room size, fireplace location, air flow, sunlight, wall type (interior vs. exterior), insulation, etc. all affect temperature. The fireplace setting may not match your home thermostat exactly. This is normal. Try different thermostat setting on your fireplace until you find one that is right for you.

l How do I turn off the LED backlights?

The backlights turn on with the flame effect, and can only be turned off with the remote control.
